Backend Developer, AI Platform Services

The role

A backend developer role in Hyderabad with a technology company building AI platform services. You will build Python and FastAPI services and run them on Kubernetes on Google Cloud. The role suits engineers with 5 to 10 years of production backend experience.

The work sits inside the company's AI platform group. You will build the APIs and microservices that connect AI agents with the company's other systems, and you will keep them fast, reliable and easy to scale.

Your days will mostly go on designing and writing services in Python, with FastAPI or a similar async framework. You will work on identity, authentication and routing services that use OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect, and you will check that the work meets the compliance rules that apply to enterprise and regulated clients.

You will also build and look after CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions, with automated tests and security scans on every release. You will deploy and monitor services on Kubernetes on GCP, and add logging and observability from the first day of each service. You will work with a partner team in Europe on how the services fit into a larger orchestration layer.

We are looking for someone with 5 to 10 years of backend experience, a degree in computer science, engineering or a related field, and real experience with microservice architecture, API gateways and inter-service communication. You should know Kubernetes, GCP, Terraform and the basics of DevSecOps. Experience with event-driven systems, containerised AI workloads or German language skills will help but are not required.

The role is full-time, based in the office in Hyderabad, on the day shift. The notice period should be up to 30 days.

Must have

• Strong programming skills in Python
• FastAPI or comparable async web frameworks
• RESTful API design patterns
• designing and operating microservice architectures, including service discovery, API gateway patterns, and inter-service communication
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes
• GCP
• CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Terraform)
• OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect flows and secure identity management
• foundational understanding of DevSecOps principles

Nice to have

• Experience with event-driven architectures
• containerized AI workloads
• event-driven, multi-agent orchestration layer (LangGraph, MCP)
• financial market infrastructure regulations (EU AI Act, DORA, NIS2)
